Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has opened up on Jack Grealish. The Englishman is the most expensive Premier League player but his contribution this season has been short of that. Speaking of the player Pep said he must prove he deserves to regain his spot in his starting line-up by showing the quality.
Pep Guardiola said he must show the same seriousness he showed when the club won the Treble in 2023. The 29 years old England international has played 14 games out of City’s 20 Premier League matches this season. Despite his purchase prise he has only started six of those games.

Grealish managed just six minutes in City’s 4-1 win against West Ham United at the Etihad on Sunday. The player is now faced with a challenge from Brazilian Savinho, a £30.8m signing from Girona.
Pep Guardiola says he will work with Grealish to help him regain the form that made him a key player two seasons ago. He believes the same way he was able to help the team win the Premier League, FA Cup and, Champions League, he can replicate that.
Savinho is better than Grealish Pep Guardiola says
He was however asked if Savinho could be an ‘example’ for the former Aston Villa man to win back his place. For that, Pep said: “Savinho is in better shape and everything than Jack, and that’s why I played Savinho [against West Ham].

He also said: “Do I want the Jack that won the Treble? Yeah I want it, but I try to be honest with myself for that.” “They have to fight. You can say it’s unfair. OK, if you think that, then it’s fine, but you have to prove [to me]. ‘OK, I’m going to fight with Savinho, to deserve to play in that position’, every single day, every single week and, every single month.”
