In the latest development of a long-standing feud, Nigerian artist Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P, has publicly defended his ownership and creative contributions to his newly released song, “Winning.”
This controversy erupted when his twin brother, Paul Okoye, famously known as Rude Boy, claimed he originally wrote the song, which was initially intended for a collaborative album.
Their dispute intensified when Peter independently released the track with his management’s support, sparking accusations from Paul of breach of agreement.
Paul accused Peter of releasing “Winning” as a solo effort despite their prior plans, criticizing his twin’s move as unprofessional. Frustrated, Paul alleged that Peter not only took credit for the song but also disregarded their shared history in music.
This dispute quickly spread across social media, where Paul shared his grievances publicly.In response, Peter has stood firm, maintaining that he co-wrote the song alongside the producer and has every right to release it.

He further alleged that Paul and their elder brother, Jude, are now pursuing legal measures to have the song taken down from streaming platforms. Peter expressed his determination to defend his creative rights and continue promoting “Winning,” despite the challenges presented by his siblings.
Peter shared his perspective with fans online, saying, “Call us names, call us childish; it’s fine. If anyone says anything false about me and I have evidence, then I have a right to defend myself. Let’s stay WINNING.”
He added a message to his team and supporters, expressing gratitude for their role in the song’s release and success. Addressing Paul’s accusations, Peter pointed out inconsistencies, asserting, “You claimed you wrote the song but didn’t know any @calypso60music. Then how come @calypso60music and I are telling you what to sing?”
He further revealed that Paul and Jude have been actively trying to remove the song from all streaming platforms but vowed to fight for his rights “till the end, with my full chest.”
