Lagos socialite and nightlife promoter Pretty Mike recently alleged that Magodo, an upscale residential area in Lagos, is known as a gathering spot for married women engaging in secret relationships with younger men.
The outspoken socialite made this claim while discussing societal norms on extramarital affairs during an interview with Arise TV.
Referring to Magodo as “the headquarters in Lagos” for such affairs, Pretty Mike suggested that many of these women are motivated by suspicions of infidelity in their marriages.
Without their husbands’ knowledge, these women purportedly enter into relationships outside their marriage, often with younger partners. In his interview, Pretty Mike pointed out that some cultures accept open marriages, where partners mutually agree on extramarital relationships.

He contended that for some women in Lagos, especially those in Magodo, engaging in such relationships is a way to cope with or respond to their husbands’ actions.“I think it’s their thing,” he remarked.
“We are in a society where husbands are allowed to sleep with other women and women allowed to sleep with other men. In Lagos, it is heavy. Magodo is their headquarters.”
Addressing men whose wives might be involved in these relationships, Pretty Mike said, “If you are a husband and you are not aware your wife is sleeping with other men, that means something is wrong. Or it is a tight niche or a cartel where everybody is having fun.”
The socialite compared this alleged trend to recent high-profile scandals involving powerful figures, like the recent scandal involving Baltasar Engonga, former anti-corruption chief of Equatorial Guinea.
He speculated that if similar affairs in Lagos were exposed, the public might witness even more shocking revelations.
Pretty Mike’s comments have ignited conversations on societal expectations, marital fidelity, and the hidden dynamics within affluent communities in Lagos. His outspoken remarks continue to stir public interest and debate around the social norms and secrets within Nigeria’s elite neighborhoods.
