Spanish La Liga top side Real Madrid has been thrown in confusion as their star player Luka Modric will be leaving the club at the end of the season. According to reports, the 38-years-old play maker who joined Los Blancos from Tottenham in 2012 will be leaving the club after 13 years.
Luka Modric’s contribution to the team has significantly decreased as he aged. However, it was previously reported that incoming head coach, Xabi Alonso had requested a contract extension for the player but it seems the board are not in support.

The club revealed that Modric will not be staying at the club for the upcoming season. Even though the former Balon d’Or winner’s wish to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, the club thinks other wise. Modric was expected to stay at the Bernabeu for at least one more season as part of his bigger plan to play for Croatia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The veteran midfielder has featured in almost 600 matches for Madrid winning series six UEFA Champions League titles, four Laliga crowns, five FIFA Club World Cups, amongst a host of other trophies.
