In a candid Instagram post, Regina Daniels Nwoko, Nigerian actress and wife of billionaire Senator Ned Nwoko, addressed recent social media criticisms surrounding her past relationships.
The controversy began after Daniels stated that she had “20 boyfriends” prior to her marriage, a remark that quickly drew attention and judgment online.
Responding to the criticism, Regina Daniels clarified her comments, stating that mentioning “20 boyfriends” was a strategic exaggeration to make a point and to educate young women about healthy boundaries.
She explained that simply having male friends who offer support does not imply any obligation on a woman’s part to reciprocate physically.
Daniels added that despite her numerous friendships with men, she upheld her personal commitment to remain a virgin until marriage.
Reflecting on her journey, Daniels shared, “Yes, I did have a lot of friends, but I made a promise to keep my virginity until marriage. And guess what? I did!”
She went on to proudly call it a “big flex” and asserted her autonomy over her choices, urging critics to “chill.”
The post has since stirred discussions on social media, with mixed reactions. Supporters praised her for advocating personal values and setting an example of independence for young women.
Detractors, however, questioned her need to disclose past relationships publicly and suggested it could be a publicity tactic.
In the spotlight once again, Daniels appears unbothered by the controversy. Her post reflects a confident stance on both her past decisions and her role in reshaping cultural narratives on relationships and personal autonomy.
