Renowned American rapper and entrepreneur Rick Ross recently visited Cape Town, South Africa, where he made waves in the music scene by mentioning some of his favorite African acts.
In a video that quickly went viral, Rick Ross expressed his admiration for several African artistes, including Nigerian superstars Davido, Blaqbonez, Psycho YP, and Boj; South African talents Nasty C and the Yababuluku Boys; Ghanaian reggae-dancehall icon Stonebwoy; Ugandan singer Spice Diana; Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones; and Nigerian producer Kel P.
He also hinted at many more artistes who have caught his attention.
The rapper emphasized the need for stronger collaborations between American and African artistes, sparking excitement and discussions among music lovers across the continent.
Fans of the mentioned artistes were particularly thrilled, flooding social media with reactions and calls for cross-continental projects.

Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II, is a Grammy-nominated rapper known for hits like Hustlin’, Aston Martin Music, and Purple Lamborghini.
Over the years, he has built a reputation for his luxurious lifestyle and business ventures, including ownership of several Wingstop franchises.
Ross has shown a growing interest in African music, a trend among global artistes as Afrobeats, Amapiano, and other African genres gain international prominence.
In 2022, Ross collaborated with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie on the track Can’t Let You Go. Rozay has also collaborated with Nigerian singers such as Psquare, Yemi Alade, etc.
He has also expressed his admiration for Africa’s rich culture, vibrant music scene, and its potential to shape the global music industry.
During his Cape Town visit, Ross highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between American and African artistes, stating that such partnerships could redefine global music trends.
