Football players are constantly taking advantage of their fame to venture into other activities. Brazil legend Ronaldo has now announced that he will run for the presidency of the country’s football association and wants to “recover the prestige” of the national team.
Remember few days ago, a former Manchester City player was elected president of Georgia now Ronaldo. The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid star is not the first to do this. The likes of Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, and many other players has done the same.

Brazil, record five-time winners of the World Cup, last won the competition in 2002 and have not progressed further than the quarter-final stage since then. Ronaldo said: “For many decades, Brazilian football has always been the escape route for the Brazilian people when they faced daily problems.”
He also said: “This was the fuel of the Brazilian people and today we see a total lack of interest from the population in the national team.” “Among hundreds of things that motivate me to become a candidate for president of the CBF is to recover this prestige and respect that the national team has always had and that no-one else has today.”
He stated that they have the best players, and he listed the likes of Vinicius Jr, Neymar, Rodrygo, Estevao, Endrick and asked why they have not won a trophy with all the players. He said they need to change the dynamic.
He stated how Brazil has failed in the World Cup, and Copa America, and said It’s unacceptable for the talent they have. The former Barcelona and AC Milan player is willing to sell his stake in La Liga side Real Valladolid to chase his new dream.
