Veteran actor Segun Arinze has revealed insights into his decision to step away from music and hinted at a possible return.
Speaking on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask with Bae U Barbie, Arinze clarified that his departure from the music scene was not due to failure but a deliberate choice to focus on his acting career.
“I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” said Arinze, who studied Theatre Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He further explained his journey: “I read theatre art at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. I left school, I did well. I went into my music on my own volition. When I decided to concentrate on my acting career, I concentrated on my acting.”
The actor, who once released two albums, stated that while he suspended his music career, he has not ruled out a return.
“I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. The voice is still there. When I feel it’s time, I will go back. I still sing,” he remarked.
However, Arinze emphasized that any potential comeback would not be for commercial purposes. “I will be going back to music but I won’t be coming into it for commercial reasons. I will return to music just because I want to sing, not because I want to make money.”
With his versatility across acting and music, fans may soon witness a new chapter in the multi-talented entertainer’s journey.
