The Super Eagles of Nigeria was forced to play a 1-1 draw in their said do die game against South Africa. They played a 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The game which is a crucial game and a must win for Nigeria came to a sad end for the Eagles. South Africa host Nigeria in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier with a clear motive in mind and they had it their way.

They took Nigeria to the worst of their pitches and the payers struggled to keep the ball on the ground. Eric Chelle’s men started very poorly as they could hardly find their footing.
South Africa soon took the lead in the 25th-minute of the game through an own goal from Nigerian captain William Troost-Ekong. Nigeria however got their equaliser from Calvin Bassey’s header.

The absence of Victor Osimhen was greatly felt as they was no pressure in the attack. Coach Chelle soon introduced Tolu and Uche and that was when the game started taking shape to Nigeria favour.
Nigeria tried to grab a winner but the defence of South Africa was able to hold the pressure. All Joe for the 2026 Fifa World Cup is now dead as they only managed to sucure 11 points from possible 24 points.
