Super Eagles End AFCON Camping on a Sad Note

The super eagles ot Nigeria rounded off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Rwanda. It was a surprising loss as the Super Eagles were playing at home.

Many people however did not think much of the game as they felt Nigeria gambled the game. Nigeria had already qualified following the victory of Libya against Rwanda last week. Nigeria qualified after Libya beat Rwanda and they drew with Benin Republic 1-1.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria when were topping their group played their last game against Rwanda in their famous Godwill Akpabio international stadium. They played a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes but things turned around after the break.

The Super Eagles introduced AC Milan star player Samuel Chukwueze in the second half and it came in handy the forward opened the scoring in the 59th minute of game from a solo effort. But just when it looked like the Eagles was going to end their campaign on a winning note the Rwandans replied with two quick goals.

Goals from Ange Mutsinzi and Innocent Nshuti ensured the visitors grabbed all three points. The defeat is the first of interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen, who might be stepping down from the role any moment from now.
