Popular Nigerian skit maker Maryam Apaokagi, widely known as Taaooma, has set social media abuzz after publicly blasting an unnamed Nigerian rap legend.
In a post shared via her X (formerly Twitter) account, the comedian didn’t hold back, directing scathing words at the veteran rapper.
Though she didn’t name the artist, her words were strong enough to ignite wild speculations online.
“There’s this stupid ‘rap legend’ that God will help me to punish. Pushing 50 ee de nironu,” she wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji.

The comment, which was both cryptic and controversial, instantly attracted attention, with netizens trying to piece together clues to determine who the mystery rapper might be.
The phrase “pushing 50” led many to guess names of rap veterans nearing or just past the age milestone.
Online users flooded the post with guesses, most pointing fingers at known figures in the Nigerian hip-hop scene.
One user, @Kayloaded1, said, “Eedris don jam talk again,” implying the artist in question might be Eedris Abdulkareem, a controversial veteran rapper known for his bold statements.
However, @DonSilsz quickly countered, stating, “People mentioning Eedris, man isn’t pushing 50, he’s over 50.” This opened the floor for even more speculation, with some users calling on Taaooma to name names.
@RoiyConsult commented, “There’s a lot of Nigerian Rap legends going to 50s so be specific so we can help you if he trespassed.”
Despite the attention the tweet has garnered, Taaooma has yet to clarify what prompted her outburst or provide more hints about the identity of the rapper. Her silence has only fueled more intrigue as fans await a potential follow-up or explanation.
While her tweet might have been intended as a humorous jab or a cryptic venting of personal frustration, the online community has taken it seriously—breaking into debate and detective work to unmask the figure behind the fiery post.
