The clean WASTE BIN

Call it trash bin, rubbish bin or waste bin, you could still be right! As far as it contains the remnants of your domestic and other waste. The question is how often do you take care of these cans that housed your waste before you finally dispose them. A lot of people do not take a second look at their waste bin when they are taking care of their environment. Some of us forget that the same way we look after other valuables in the home is the same way we should look after our waste bins. There are different wastes and of course there are different containers for these wastes. For instance, the waste from your kitchen will definitely be different from the one coming from your bedroom and the one from your bedroom definitely will be different from the one coming from your toilet. Whichever one and wherever they are coming from’, each category of waste should find their way in the appropriate containers. Used toilet tissues should not be dropped in the kitchen waste and used cream containers, empty bottles and plastic wastes coming from the bedroom should not be disposed in the kitchen food bin. As much as I don’t intend to dwell too much on proper waste disposal on this article, I still feel the need to shed that light in that regard. Now to the main issue and coming back to the initial question, how often do you look after your waste bins. Do you even believe in looking after your waste bin?

Keeping our waste bin clean is another way and one of the best ways to ensure infection control in the home and the entire environment. When your waste bin is clean, then automatically every other area in the home would be expected to wear a clean look. Waste bin helps us to prevent a lot of foreign and uninvited “guests” and odours alike. Uninvited guests like flies, insects and possibly rodents. Waste bins will also help to hide disgusting remnants that if exposed could give visitors a bad impression about us. Keeping the waste bin clean and tidy will help us to maintain good hygiene. Waste bin cleaning and maintenance should be a part of our cleaning routine, just like we clean our washrooms and other Important and relevant areas and places in our homes and environment. Meanwhile, in the process of cleaning our waste bins, efforts should be made to ensure that we don’t transmit infection to other areas of the house or materials, therefore I will recommend using hand gloves all through the cleaning process. Waste bins should be allowed to dry after each cleaning.

Also, we should always have a bag containers in our waste bins, to prevent the wsste from touching the bin directly. This will help promote good and efficient cleaning. After the whole cleaning, we should endeavour to wash and dry our hands. As I wrap up this article, remember the popular saying that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Michael Malomo
