Tottenham has beaten Manchester United for the fourth time in this season to lift the Uefa Europa League season. The both team which has been very in the season went head to head in the Europa final. Spurs came looking like they had just one game plan which was to force a goal and then defend it.
The tactics worked well for them as Brennan Johnson got a goal in the first half of the game. Johnson jumped on a cross and further stretched his leg to force the ball to the back of the net. United came into the second half looking to turn things around but Spurs knew better.
It looked like they have studied Manchester United as they were able to defend the one goal lead till the very last minute. Speaking about the game after the 90 minutes of play, goalscorer Johnson said: “I’m so happy right now. This season has not been good at all, not one of us players care about that now. This team has not won a trophy for 17 years, it means so much.”
“All the fans get battered, we get battered for not winning a trophy. We had to get the first one, I’m so happy. Ever since I came here it has been ‘Tottenham, good team but can’t get it done’, but we got it done.” “I knew I touched it a bit [for the goal], but not clean, then I looked up and the ball was trickling in the goal.”
It is a great news for Tottenham as their manager’s words came through. The manager who had said he always wins trophy in his second season, he has truly won a trophy now. They will be in the 2025/26 Champions League but Manchester United, they will have to now hope for a better next season.
