West Ham United Give Update on Antonio Conditions

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has been involved in a ghastly car accident. The club released a statement following the ugly incident and said the Jamaican international is in a stable condition and “conscious and communicating.” In the statement, the club said Antonio is “currently under close supervision at a central London hospital”.

The Premier League club also said: “At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family.” “The club will make no further comment this evening, but will issue a further update in due course.”

The accident on Saturday afternoon in the Essex area. In a statement released earlier by the club it said “thoughts and prayers” were “with Michail, his family and friends”. West Ham United will be playing Wolves in their next match in the Premier League on Monday (20:00 GMT) and it expected that Antonio will not be in the stands.

English Premier League clubs has all come out to show support for club’s record Premier League scorer. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City replied to West Ham’s earlier statement on X, external sending their best wishes to Antonio.

The Premier League also replied, adding the “thoughts and prayers” of everyone at the organisation are with “Antonio, his family, friends and all at West Ham”. Southampton also posted their support for Antonio on X, as did Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester.
