Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has thrown his support behind the Super Eagles as they gear up for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against Rwanda.
The Nigerian music icon took to social media to express his excitement about the team’s energy under newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle.
“New Super Eagles team! Love the energy,” Wizkid tweeted, showing his enthusiasm for the squad’s preparations.
The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda on Friday, March 21, at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, before returning home to host Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25.

These two matches are crucial for Nigeria’s World Cup qualification campaign, with the team aiming to secure maximum points to strengthen their chances of advancing.
The squad’s preparations in Kigali have been intense, with several key players arriving early to acclimatize to the conditions. However, the team faces potential challenges, including the absence of some players due to injury and personal reasons.
Meanwhile, former Rwanda coach Johnny McKinstry has issued a warning to the Super Eagles, stating that the Amavubi will be no pushovers in front of their home fans.
Additionally, concerns have been raised about the availability of two key Rwandan players who are reportedly dealing with bereavement, which could impact their performance.
With high stakes in the qualifiers, football fans across Nigeria eagerly await the team’s performance in these crucial fixtures. All eyes will be on Chelle and his squad as they look to navigate these challenges and move closer to securing a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
