Award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has opened up about an emotional connection between his daughter and his late mother, Morayo Balogun.
During a heartfelt moment at his recent performance at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, Wizkid told fans that his daughter resembles his late mother, a resemblance he believes is a divine gift.
“God gave me a daughter who looks exactly like my mom to come fill my heart with a whole lot of love,” he said to an emotional crowd.
Wizkid’s mother, Morayo Balogun, passed away in August 2023, leaving a deep void in the singer’s life. His recent revelation offered fans a glimpse into how he has found healing and love through his daughter.

The Grammy-winning artist, known for global hits like “Ojuelegba” and “Essence,” is currently on an international tour, delivering powerful performances and emotionally resonant moments at every stop.
The connection between his daughter and his late mother appears to have taken on a special spiritual meaning for the artist, adding an emotional layer to his public appearances.
Earlier this year, Wizkid unveiled his daughter’s face during an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival, marking the first time he introduced her to the public.
Wiz’s 2024 album was named “Morayo” in honor of the later mother and has hit songs such as “Kese”, “MMS” feat. Asake, and so on.
