A Nigerian man’s plea for assistance in unlocking his iPhone 15 Pro Max has turned into an online spectacle after social media users accused him of possessing Wizkid’s reportedly stolen phone.
The man, who shared his plight on X (formerly Twitter), explained that he had gotten drunk at the Nativeland event and forgotten his passcode.
“Please, who knows how to unlock an iPhone 15 Pro Max? I got drunk at Nativeland and forgot my passcode. 😅🌚,” he wrote.
What began as a simple call for help quickly spiraled as users flooded the comments, tagging the Nigerian police, the FBI, and even Wizkid himself.
Many claimed the phone in question might belong to the star, whose device was reportedly stolen. In response to the accusations, the man clarified, “Make una stop tagging the police, this is my phone, I only forgot my passcode because I was drunk at Nativeland.”
Despite the disclaimer, speculation ran rampant, with some users accusing him of theft. Comments ranged from humorous jabs to serious allegations:
@iam_harryjuana: “Man said he got drunk. We know this phone don’t belong to you.”@tobijubril_:
“Na you pocket my Idolo’s phone?”@SurgeMarkyy: “So na you carry Wizkid phone.”
The incident coincides with news that Wizkid lost his phone during the same event, fueling suspicions online. While no formal allegations have been made, the man’s post has become a viral topic, with reactions from amused fans and concerned followers alike.
