Following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw global music artist Ed Sheeran interrupted the United head coach during his interview. The musician has now come out to apologised for the action. The artist interrupted Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim’s live TV interview after Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Ipswich Town.
Ed Sheeran Apologizes to United Head Coach
Ruben Amorim was being interviewed by Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates, ex-United captain Roy Keane with other people when the incident happened. The Singer-songwriter Sheeran, who is a minority owner at Ipswich, interrupted the pitchside interview to greet Redknapp.
Referring to Amorim, Sheeran said: “I don’t think he wants to speak to me.” He added: “I love being back in the Premier League.”
He then left and the interview resumed. In a post in Instagram on Monday, Sheeran wrote: “Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday. Didn’t actually realise he was being interviewed at the time. Was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Great game, congrats on all involved.”
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for United in the second minute but Omari Hutchinson’s 43rd-minute equaliser earned Ipswich a point.
