The remix, which became an instant hit, was crowned Spotify Nigeria’s biggest song of 2024, cementing Ayo Maff’s place in the mainstream music scene. The surprise collaboration also earned him a nomination in the prestigious Headies Next Rated category.

Ayo Maff revealed that he never expected Fireboy DML to jump on the track, calling the feature an unexpected blessing that changed everything.
Known for his raw and relatable lyrics, Ayo Maff’s music is deeply rooted in the realities of street life, often highlighting themes like hardship, police brutality, poverty, and the unrelenting hustle many Nigerians face.
The Bariga-born whizkid is quickly becoming a notable name in the Nigerian music scene, particularly within the street-pop and Afrobeats subgenres. Hailing from a modest background, his music is shaped by the everyday struggles and triumphs of the average Nigerian youth.
He first gained attention in underground music circles with tracks that resonated deeply with listeners from the streets — unfiltered, passionate, and rooted in real-life experiences.
His breakout track, Dealer, originally made waves within local communities and on social media, gradually climbing into the ears of mainstream audiences.
However, it was the Dealer Remix featuring Fireboy DML that catapulted him into national fame. The remix not only broadened his fanbase but also showcased his versatility and ability to collaborate with established stars.
