Afrobeats superstar Davido has fired back at a social media user who accused him of promoting cultism through his recent posts on X (formerly Twitter).
The user, who claimed to be a fan of the singer, expressed concern over Davido’s conduct, saying the artist was “overdoing” things and “actively encouraging and promoting cultism.”
The post quickly drew attention as it touched on a sensitive topic that has often followed celebrities in Nigeria.
“I love Davido and all that. But I’ll say it again, he’s always overdoing at times. Today he’s actively encouraging and promoting cultism. Smh. Omooo,” the user wrote.
The critic didn’t stop there. He also called out loyal fans who constantly defend the singer regardless of his actions.“As for una wey be real fan, make una continue dey defend some nonsense shey ee gbo,” he added.
Davido, known for his unfiltered responses, wasted no time in clapping back. In a brief but blunt reply, the singer wrote:
“That one nah ur papa business.”
The post has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions across social media. While some fans hailed Davido for standing his ground, others urged him to be more mindful of the influence he wields.

Davido is one of Africa’s biggest music exports. Known for his chart-topping hits, flamboyant lifestyle, and social media presence, he is often in the public eye—not just for his music, but also for his statements and affiliations.
As the son of billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, Davido lives a luxurious life, frequently showcasing his wealth through designer fashion, expensive jewelry, and a fleet of exotic cars.
However, his bold personality and unbothered attitude have often drawn both admiration and criticism. Whether it’s flaunting his private jet or publicly confronting critics, Davido never shies away from the spotlight.
While he has built a loyal fanbase over the years, his actions and associations continue to spark conversations—both supportive and controversial—within and outside the entertainment industry.
