Gernot Rohr Sends Strong Warning to Nigeria

Former Super Eagles of Nigerian head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that Zimbabwe will go all out against Nigeria on Tuesday. The manager who is now the head coach of Benin is the same group with Nigeria in 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Benin currently sit in the second place position and are four points ahead of Nigeria. Nigeria picked up their first win in the qualifiers thanks to Victor Osimhen’s two goals. The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be hosting Zimbabwe in the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, with the three points at stake.

Rohr stated that Zimbabwe’s hope of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup may be over, but warned that the team will battle fiercely in Uyo. According to him, he said: “We knew that it was the last chance for Zimbabwe to qualify for the World Cup. Now, with three points it is finished.”

He also said: “But they are fighting very well and I know with this coach and his staff, they will do the same in Uyo and the same against Rwanda and Lesotho.” But in response, Victor Osimhen has declared that the Super Eagles are ready for battle against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

Victor Osimhen described the remaining five matches in the qualifiers as “war” that must be fought won. He said: “We are ready. The remaining matches are wars and we must fight them with all that we have to win.”
