A man has landed in serious trouble after allegedly stealing six generators from an apartment complex in Port Harcourt and selling each for just ₦10,000.
The incident came to light after a resident of the apartment raised the alarm on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), complaining that several tenants had woken up to discover their generators missing.
According to the distressed post, the affected residents began a frantic search for the culprit, only for a video to later surface online showing the alleged thief being paraded by members of the community.

In the viral video, it was claimed that the suspect made away with six generators during the night and shockingly sold each unit for a meagre ₦10,000 — an amount many Nigerians say wouldn’t even buy a tank of fuel in today’s economy.
The bizarre pricing and the sheer audacity of the act sparked outrage and amusement in equal measure across social media, with users questioning if the thief was running a charity organization for generator resellers.
“Six generators for ₦60,000 total? Even NEPA would be speechless,” one user commented.
Meanwhile, residents of the apartment complex are calling for justice, stating that the incident left them in darkness and forced to rely on candles and rechargeable lamps in the meantime.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the arrest, but the video evidence has already gone viral, drawing widespread attention to the bizarre theft and the comically low resale price.
