Popular Nigerian skit maker and budding singer, Nasboi, has broken his silence following a car accident that occurred during his ambitious 36-state tour aimed at securing a music feature from Afrobeats superstar, Davido.
In a heartfelt statement released on June 5, Nasboi expressed deep gratitude for surviving the crash and reaffirmed his commitment to the journey.
What began as a bold and creative attempt to get Davido’s attention has now evolved into something more personal and inspiring for the entertainer.
“Exactly eight days into my 36-day campaign across Nigeria, what started as a bold, creative plea for a verse from the legendary Davido has now taken on a life of its own,” Nasboi wrote.
“Yes, the accident happened and yes, it was terrifying. But I am alive, and for that, I am grateful,” he continued. “I have seen the concerns, the criticisms, and the backlash. I hear you. But I refuse to let this moment be defined by fear, shame, or public opinion. For me, this is now bigger than a verse from Davido.”
He emphasized that the journey has become a mission of resilience and self-belief, stating that he hopes his determination will encourage others to remain committed to their dreams, no matter the setbacks.
“This journey is no longer just about music. It has become a personal mission to prove that I can weather storms, face real danger, and still keep moving forward,” he said.
“It’s about resilience. It’s about showing the world, and myself, that once I set start on something, I finish it.”
“I will continue this campaign not out of desperation, but out of purpose. I hope someone out there sees this and finds the courage to keep going, even when the road gets rough. We rise not by convenience, but by conviction.”
So far, Nasboi has visited eight states, carrying placards with messages aimed at catching Davido’s attention.
