Renowned Nollywood actress Dupe Jayesinmi has recently found herself at the center of a family dispute following revelations made by her sister, Tope Jayesinmi.
The controversy, which revolves around inheritance claims, has resurfaced after Dupe Jayesinmi spoke on Biola Bayo’s podcast about facing her 60th birthday without a child to celebrate with.
According to Tope Jayesinmi, Dupe’s roots have long been a subject of contention within the family. She disclosed that Dupe never knew her biological father, as he reportedly refused to acknowledge her mother’s pregnancy.
Instead, she was raised by Professor Samuel Bamidele Jayesinmi, her maternal uncle, who adopted her and gave her his surname.

Professor Jayesinmi, a well-respected figure, played a pivotal role in Dupe’s life, shaping her identity and providing her with a family name. However, his passing has triggered a fierce inheritance battle.
Tope Jayesinmi claims that, as the eldest in the family, Dupe took control of the professor’s estate, which included over 52 hectares of land. Allegedly, she has sold off a significant portion of the property without allocating any shares to Professor Jayesinmi’s biological children.
This dispute has since escalated into a legal battle, with the case remaining unresolved in court. The allegations have sparked mixed reactions, especially in light of Dupe’s recent remarks about her personal struggles.
Some sympathizers argue that she has faced enough hardships in life, while others insist that the inheritance should be equitably distributed among all rightful heirs.
With tensions running high, this unfolding family drama continues to capture public interest. Whether justice will be served or more revelations will emerge remains to be seen, as the legal battle lingers and emotions flare.
