Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh had fans in hysterics after sharing a bizarre incident involving her medicated contact lenses.
On her Instagram story, the actress recounted how she accidentally swallowed the lenses in an early morning blunder.
Tonto explained that she removed her transparent lenses the previous night but couldn’t locate their case.
Improvising, she placed them in a water bottle. At 3:30 a.m., parched from sleep, she grabbed the bottle to quench her thirst, unknowingly drinking the lenses.
“My lenses are now swimming in my stomach,” she joked. The story quickly gained traction online, sparking reactions from fans.
Some shared similar experiences, while others issued warnings. Cyprain Nwako, a relationship coach, advised, “If this happens, go to a hospital immediately. Post later; your health comes first.”
Another user, Oge Okafor, stressed caution, saying, “I’d rather sleep with my lenses than misplace them.”
Bony Bony urged care, considering potential hazards. Yet, Onyekachi D shared a laugh: “I almost swallowed my friend’s lenses last month. Luckily, I felt it before swallowing. Don’t try this nonsense again!”
Obafemi Gabriel dismissed concerns, noting, “Our stomach acids can melt a razor blade. It’s nothing.”
