Grammy-nominated artist Asake has made history as Nigeria’s top-selling artist for 2024, solidifying his place at the pinnacle of the country’s music scene.

The recognition, based on the annual chart by leading music publication TurnTable, marks an unprecedented achievement, making Asake the first Nigerian artist to claim the title for three consecutive years.

Trailblazing Career Milestones

Asake’s meteoric rise to fame continued in 2024 with his discography dominating the music charts. His earlier albums Mr. Money With The Vibe (MMWTV) and Work of Art retained strong positions in the Official Top 100 Albums chart.

However, it was his third album, Lungu Boy, that defined the year, reigning as the No. 1 album for 15 weeks and closing out 2024 as the best-selling album, despite its August release.

Unmatched Radio Presence

The singer-songwriter also maintained his dominance in radio airplay. For the second consecutive year, Asake was named the No. 1 radio artist, earning the highest total chart points on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart.

His collaboration with Wizkid, “MMS,” topped the Year-End Afro-R&B chart and debuted at No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart, holding the spot for three weeks.

Streaming King

On streaming platforms, Asake’s influence was equally unmatched. He ended the year as the leading artist on Apple Music, with Lungu Boy spearheading his streaming success.

The album also ruled Audiomack’s charts, while Asake clinched the title of the No. 1 artist on YouTube in Nigeria, cementing his position as a digital powerhouse.

With three consecutive years at the top, Asake’s groundbreaking achievements not only highlight his talent but also set a new benchmark for Nigerian artists globally.

Meanwhile, Mavins act, Ayra Starr has also been named as Nigeria’s female top selling artist of the year for 2024 beating the likes of Tems, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and so on.
