Real Madrid advanced into the next stage of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Juventus 1-0 in the last 16 round. The Spanish top side have now booked their place in the quarter finals of the FIFA. This year’s tournament came with lost of shock with big European teams bowing to small teams.
Manchester City were humiliated out of the tournament by Saudi Pro League side Al Halah and Inter Milan were knocked out by Brazilian side. Real Madrid went into the game with an upper hand and they came out victorious. This match marks the fourth game of Xabi Alonso’s reign, with the Spaniard hoping to gel his side quickly as they reach the business end of this new tournament.

Alonso once again deployed a 5-3-2 system against the record Serie A champions. His side however looked vulnerable defensively in the first half and were fortunate not to fall behind in the early stages. Randal Kolo Muani had a golden opportunity to give Juventus the lead but the ball deflected wide.
Real Madrid’s best chance of the first half fell to Jude Bellingham, who was denied from a tight angle by keeper Michele di Gregorio. Federico Valverde was also thwarted by a magnificent one-handed stop by the 27-year-old.
Alexander-Arnold, making his fourth successive start at the tournament, provided an assist. Garcia converted a cross from Arnold in the second-half and it was the only goal of the game.
